{"id":384,"date":"2008-12-30T14:29:16","date_gmt":"2008-12-30T14:29:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kera.name\/articles\/?p=384"},"modified":"2008-12-30T14:37:13","modified_gmt":"2008-12-30T14:37:13","slug":"oh-sorry-we-meant-the-other-guys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kera.name\/articles\/2008\/12\/oh-sorry-we-meant-the-other-guys\/","title":{"rendered":"Oh Sorry We Meant The Other Guys"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Thousands of civilians were caught up in fighting in and around South Ossetia, which began on 7 August when Georgia tried to retake the region by force after a series of lower-level clashes with Russian-backed rebels.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#039;s interesting how the BBC has so completely <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/shared\/spl\/hi\/pop_ups\/08\/in_pictures_year_in_pictures_2008\/html\/10.stm\" title=\"BBC News | In pictures: Year in pictures 2008, Clashes\">changed its tune<\/a> in the four months since <a href=\"https:\/\/kera.name\/articles\/2008\/08\/on-lies-hypocrisy-and-war-criminals\/\" title=\"kera.name :: Articles &raquo; On Lies, Hypocrisy and War Criminals\">placing the blame<\/a> firmly on Russian policy.<\/p>\n<p>It was obvious at the time, at least to me, how wrong they were and it&#039;s nice to see a change of heart on the issue albeit a subtle one. I particularly loved how the G8 was bitching about Russia being on another country&#039;s sovereign soil, when Georgia was in the Iraq coalition.
